None. Employers can be charged for any time an employee worked for them. However, a chargeback on a short-term separation is much less likely to negatively affect a tax rating.
The work week is a fixed and regularly scheduled, recurring period of 168 consecutive hours, seven consecutive 24-hour periods. It does not need to coincide with the calendar week and may start on any day and hour which is convenient for the employer.
Exempt: Not eligible for overtime or pay deductions.
Non-Exempt: Eligible for overtime for any hours worked over 40 in one week but in some states like California you are eligible for overtime if you work more than 8 hours in one day.
